A Petroleum Density kit is an essential, portable and often NABL certified, Toolset used primarily at petrol pumps and laboratories to measure the density of fuels like petrol, diesel, and kerosene. It ensures fuel quality, compliance with industry standards and accurate inventory management. The kit typically includes calibrated hydrometers, thermometers and glass measuring jars.  A Hydrometer is a floating glass instrument used to measure the specific gravity or density of liquids, operating on archimedes principle of buoyancy. It consists of sealed, weighted bulb and a graduated stem that sinks deeper in lighter liquids and shallower in denser liquids, providing a direct reading. It works based on the principle of floatation, a solid body displaces its own weight in the liquid.

It is applied to a gauging rod/ tape and upon contact with oil, gasoline, or hydrocarbon-based fuel, it changes color (e.g. from blue or light pink to bright red. It is should be stored in a cool, dry place to maintain often identified.

Water Finding paste is a specialized, color-changing compound used to detect water at bottom of fuel tanks (petrol, diesel, oil).  Applied to a dipstick, the paste reacts instantly upon contact with water, changing to a distinct color (like bright red) to accurately measure water levels. It identifies water contamination in storage tanks and fuel systems. It works with gasoline, diesel and biofuels.
